The inhumane horrors that plague our Earth are ever unfolding and repeated, and always require a tenacity of will. The arms of the U.S. turn the zealous neck of Israel, funding the genocide of the Earth's Palestinian people. The Nazi foot soldiers of the U.S. called ICE are disappearing the Earth's friends and neighbors. The prisons bloat and stale. Artificial Intelligence pollutes the Earth's air and water.

There remains the natural beauty of our Earth. The presence of song and songbirds, rivers that stretch without stir, and the dazzling blankets of space. And sun! And sky! And us! Propelled by resistance, strengthened by solidarity and true righteousness.

I am deeply moved by these gifts. I am deeply moved by the contributions of our curious species to our species and to the Earth. I am eternally in gratitude to the warmth of soil and the inevitability of justice.

So I ask of you who is here now, reading:

Have you dedicated your life to beauty? Kindness? Stewardship and education? Defense of children and of all living creatures? Pleading on behalf of the land? Laughter and grief? Discipline? Magic and music? Pleasure? Fire? Darkness? Love? Have you dedicated your life to love? on earth? Here? Right now?

I have laid my life down before you! This is all there is to it. Now to make things with our words and hands and bodies and mouths, as we are prone to do, and do well.
